A key leadership role is to unlock the potential of staff members – so they become better at their jobs. This then improves the performance of the overall business.

In addition, research shows that attitudes to work and careers are changing – and people are taking more responsibility for their personal development. World-class leaders recognise that and put arrangements in place to make it happen. They know that developing their staff is good for their business.

I work with clients like that, to identify how staff and teams can improve their performance and be equipped for the challenges they face in today’s working environment. Once the areas for improvement are clear, I can then address them in three key ways: training, coaching and/or mentoring.

  • Training
I’m a qualified trainer (Certificate in Training Practice from CIPD) with years of experience in developing and delivering staff training courses. Typical topics include Managing Staff, Managing Time, Building Resilience and Dealing with Conflict.
  • Coaching
As an experienced and fully qualified/accredited coach (through the Association for Coaching), I provide a safe and confidential coaching environment for people. I help them to articulate their thoughts, identify challenges and issues, and work out how to overcome them.

During our sessions I hold people accountable, identify progress and – where progress isn’t being made – help them find solutions to move forward. It involves facilitating their thinking in a supportive, non-judgemental way.

  • Mentoring
In this service I provide practical support to people, and introduce them to tools and techniques to help them progress and develop. This draws on 25 years’ business experience that ranges from a corporate environment to working with small businesses.
